At its April meeting, the Chemung County Legislature transferred the former Brookside Trailer Park land in the Town of Southport over to the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency for development.
The IDA will market the parcel to bring an economic development project to the site. It has been almost a decade since property taxes have been paid on that property. It is important to the county, town and school district that this gets back on the tax roles. This was the location of the Brookside Trailer Park that was condemned and torn down by the Town of Southport. It was later foreclosed on by Chemung County.
As a Board Member of the IDA and whose district this parcel is located in, Legislator Strange will make the development of land a top priority.
