Chemung County Executive Christopher J. Moss has launched the Chemung County Business Recovery Unit, which will be comprised of members and organizations of the business community whose goals and objectives will include:
· An outreach initiative to local businesses advising them of the types of assistance currently being offered;
· Provide guidance in applying for various grants and loans being offered by the state and federal government;
· Assist businesses on ideas involving moving to an on-line E-Commerce platform;
· Provide assistance involving how to access various state and federal resources.
Members of the Business Recovery Unit will include Jeff Kenefick Chairman of the Board of the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce, Jeff Streeter Chairman of the Board for Southern Tier Economic Growth and Joe Roman President of STEG and Executive Director of the Chemung County IDA. The Business recovery Unit will be chaired by Chemung County Deputy Executive David Sheen. Local businesses are urged to log onto the county’s website whereupon they can take a survey which will assist the Business Recovery Unit in assessing and prioritizing what the needs of our local businesses are.
