Serving his constituents has always been what Chemung County Legislator Rodney J. Strange calls his #1 priority.
On a recent June day, Strange was contacted by a resident of Jerusalem Hill Road about a sink hole near his residence. Legislator Strange was out with the constituent within an hour and surveyed the area, took photos and contacted the County’s Public Works Commissioner Andy Avery.
A few days later the problem was fixed. The banded pipe section that runs under the road had separated, causing the sinkhole and loss of material. County crews added a new section, rebanded, and compacted new material.
This is just one of hundreds of constituent issues that Legislator Strange has worked to address since becoming the 15th district legislator in January 2011.
