Chemung County Legislator Rodney J. Strange spent the overnight of June 27th & 28th with the deputies of the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office. In his quest to learn the jobs of county employees, Legislator Strange did a ride-a-long with Deputy Rich Mathews the STOP-DWI officer.
“Deputy Mathews taught me all aspect of the deputy’s job. From the technology inside the car to the procedure of a traffic stop, Deputy Mathews provided me with an in depth perspective of the duties deputies perform during each shift every day,” Strange said.
“I look forward to more ride-a-longs in the future with the Chemung county Sheriff’s Office. This type of firsthand experience gives me an important perspective as a member of the legislature’s Corrections and Law Enforcement Committee.”
