Chemung County Legislator Rodney J. Strange has been appointed by County Legislative Chairman Donna Draxler to a position on Southern Tier Economic Growth’s Project Review Committee. The county legislature confirmed the appointment at it’s April 9th meeting.

The Committee will oversee the distribution of $2.3 million from the sale of the former Wings of Eagles building.

The money will be given out to small new and existing businesses that currently wouldn’t qualify for STEG support.

Strange is excited for this opportunity to serve on this committee. “I have always said that the best social program is a job and now I will have the opportunity to be involved with the creation of new jobs right here in Chemung County,” Strange said  “Small businesses are the backbone of our society and we need to help those businesses thrive in our community.”
